New Hampshire State Board of Education passed a resolution in 2002 urging schools to end the use of Native American mascots and that the National Congress of American Indians has said mascots “perpetuate negative stereotypes of America’s first peoples.” It calls for the school to remove “all depictions related to appropriated Native persons or culture” including the “Warrior head, spears, feathers with beads, and arrowheads.”
